10.05.10 - JAPAN TOUR OFF THE HOOK
Japan was amazing and JeConte / Cohen took it to another level. With the help of 'SOUL IT' our backing support band from Tokyo we were able to have a bunch of great shows and the band was polished and very well received. Japan is a great country to tour. A big shout out to Keiji at Cafe Goatee for a great gig as well in Kamakura. We had an enthusiastic turn out and everyone there bought CD's to help us with the travel costs, which was great. If you make it to Japan, make sure to hit Kyoto. Mattey Cohen and JeConte played and impromtu gig at the Piano bar which was a lot of fun. Media on it's way...More to come...

9.11.10 - ROCKED POINT RICHMOND
Point Richmond Concert series was a big turn out and a great success. The town loved the band and we were able to return to the neighborhood where we recorded 'Sweet Nortghern California.' Sugar Studios has now moved south, we look forward to connecting with Mike Sugar for the next JeConte release in 2011...

8.13.10 - CREEKSIDE LOVED THE BAND
Creekside in Mill Valley had a a huge turn out this year and we ended the series on a high note. It was a double header that day as we played The Sea Horse later that night, but the turn out at Creekside was great. Thanks to all the people that enthusiastically supported the band as they asked us to return next year. bring it!!!

8.1.10 - RAISED $550 FOR GULF VICTIMS
YES WE DID!!! We raised some good dough for those in need and we will do it again. The money we raised went directly to the following: South Louisiana in Lafourche, Plaquemines and Terrebonne Parishes.

Forthebayou.org is working with a variety of agencies for both humanitarian and environmental assistance in providing 100% of our money to: basic food needs, community assistance through mental and spiritual support, transportation assistance, school uniforms for children and developing long term job skills retraining.

Environmental money is going to purchasing special plants for wetland and dune restoration and for a temporary bird habitat set up in Grand Isle to lure birds away from oiled areas.

JeConte's performance in Austin, TX was so powerful that fans from the street filled the venue to capacity. These guys are tremendous live and great to work with. JeConte is extremely talented on the harmonica and an incredible performer. We were very proud to host their showcase at SxSW.

Mojito on July 19
What an evening of music! I think everyone that was able to make it to Mojito on July 19 would agree. The night started simmerin' hot with a collaboration of Bay Area artists that came together for our cause, JeConte Cohen & Friends, pumping out a couple of sets of some NOLA inspired tunes. Featured in this southern inspired alliance: Joe Conte rippin' on harp and vocals, Glenn Hartman on accordion (a member of the Klesmer Allstars), Chris Haugen on Weisenborn Slide, Matt Cohen on acoustic guitar. While the these guys were servin' it hot, For the Bayou was dishing out savory Louisiana red beans & rice, a New Orleans favorite. Enter...The Southern Troubadours: Anders Osborne, Clarence Bucaro & Jumpin' Johnny Sansone. In their quite compact and sweeping West Coast tour, they came straight off the bus and on stage to deliver exactly as promisedÉ an amazing, up-close and personal, Crescent City-soul-inspired acoustic show. The night was steamy for a Sunday in the city and gave many of us who are either from or love Louisiana, a much needed, soul-filled night of music.

Thank you to Anders, Clarence, Johnny, and the crew from JeConte Cohen & Friends for a great night of music and fun and all for dedicating this show to For the Bayou. A big thank you to Mojito and staff for hosting and to JeConte for his support and enthusiasm of our cause. Thanks also to Rueben Williams of Thunderbird Management for inviting us to be a part of this show!
